Background

Hudson & Crane, a Washington, DC–based interior design firm with over a decade of experience, partnered with us for two years to build the systems and strategies necessary to scale. While the firm had a strong creative reputation, operations lacked structure, onboarding was slow, and the sales pipeline was inconsistent. The owner carried much of the firm’s knowledge personally, creating bottlenecks that limited growth.

Overview

The partnership focused on balancing operational clarity with revenue growth. We built a Notion-based management system that gave leadership real-time visibility into sales pipeline health, shortened client onboarding, and created interactive “value engines” for growth, fulfillment, team building, and innovation. These systems standardized workflows and clarified accountability, freeing the owner to focus on design and creative direction.

At the same time, we developed tailored go-to-market strategies to increase pipeline opportunities and strengthen market presence. Social media growth was used as a visibility lever, with Pinterest campaigns boosting engagement and driving new leads into the funnel. Quarterly strategic planning sessions tied every KPI directly to revenue targets, while leadership coaching encouraged adaptive mindsets to navigate growth transitions.

The result was an interior design firm with both the systems to scale and the strategy to grow consistently year over year.

Results

Hudson & Crane doubled its monthly connection calls and grew visibility dramatically, with Pinterest profile views rising 400% in 30 days. Pipeline health improved with more qualified opportunities and smoother onboarding processes, while strategic planning contributed to YoY growth. Operational clarity reduced bottlenecks, enabling seamless hiring and team alignment, and the business laid the foundation for launching new products.

Impact

“Leonie is an excellent sounding board for our design firm, and we've enjoyed working with her over the past 2 years. From the very beginning, she understood our challenges and provided actionable solutions that helped transform how we operate. We partnered with her on several key initiatives, including marketing campaigns, strategy sessions to clarify our vision and direction, and the optimization of our business systems.

One of the most impactful projects was the development of a comprehensive business management operating system. Before working with Leonie on this project, we were preparing to hire new team members, but our internal processes were not streamlined enough to support growth. Leonie built a system that organized how we attract and onboard clients, deliver our services, hire and integrate new staff, and plan for the future. She visualized each step of our workflow, documented standard operating procedures for critical points, and designed a custom Notion dashboard that became our go-to resource and strategic compass. This system didn’t just make our processes smoother—it made them scalable. As I said to her when we wrapped up, this makes our firm ‘a gazillion times more valuable.’

Beyond systems, Leonie’s strategy sessions brought us clarity on our overall direction, including how to move forward with our new rug line and other growth opportunities. Her ability to combine big-picture thinking with practical solutions has been invaluable to our success.

I would highly recommend her to any company looking to scale and take their business to the next level.”
